Bad pet parenting

Last Tuesday, I posted this photo on Instagram:

Toby the Terrible had gotten himself into the giant, sprawling bouquet of lilies that C had gotten me for Valentine's Day, and managed to get himself completely covered in the bright yellow pollen that comes with them. He basically looked like he had been smeared all over with mustard. Delightful.

We took him up to the bathroom and tried to rinse him off and use some shampoo to clean him up, but that was only marginally successful - just think about the logistics of bathing a cat for a minute. Yeahhhhh.

He was pretty funny looking soaking wet, though, so to Instagram I went. Hashtag Toby the Terrible.

It became significantly less funny when one of my sweet friends alerted me to the fact that lilies are stupid poisonous for cats. (Thanks, Em!!!) We had no idea - and our cats are notorious plant-eaters. Like, if there are flowers anywhere in the house, they will track them down and munch. Great!

Both cats had only had limited exposure to the bouquet unsupervised (about an hour while C and I had been shoveling the driveway), but who knows what happened while we were outside. Cue panic.

I promptly threw the bouquet away and we tried again to wipe Toby down with a sponge (a little more effort this time, and with more success, luckily), and went to work trying to keep him from licking the area with the pollen. FYI - If you Google "cats and lilies," the internet will pretty much tell you that you're an idiot and a terrible cat parent and tell you all the horrible things that are going to happen to your cat before they die. Trust me, you will feel awful.

Our vet was closed because of the snow, and there really wouldn't have been much they could do anyway. The best we could do was monitor both cats, make sure neither of them starting acting unusual, and keep an eye out for changes in the litter box or throw up. Okay. We could handle that. I guess.

Until I woke up on Wednesday morning and found cat throw up (gross, I know) in the living room. Given the state of alert we were in and the fact that it is rare for either of the cats to get sick, I went into super panic mode. Neither C or I could afford to stay home from work that day and watch the cats, but we needed to not leave them alone for 12+ hours and wonder if they'd be okay while we were gone. What to do?!

If you think I called my mom at 5:30 AM on a snow day, woke her up, and begged her to drive an hour each way to spend the afternoon with my cats, you better believe you are correct. And because my mother is an angel and a saint, she did it without question, and ensured us that all was fine in the house. Nothing was amiss, both cats acting totally normal, and all was seemingly well.

By Thursday morning, we were pretty sure we were out of the woods (a la T. Swift song), because the World Wide Web says signs of being poisoned with show up within 48 hours. Apparently, the one case of vomiting was just a really, really poorly timed coincidence (thanks, whoever did that) - it's been just about a week now, and both cats seem completely healthy. Normal, no, healthy, yes. We are still watching them closely, but I think we are okay. Needless to say, it will be awhile before we have fresh flowers in the house again... and definitely no lilies!

Drowned-rat status. Good thing cats have 9 lives!
Someone please share with me a similar bad-pet-parenting story. It can't be just us! Anything else that you know is poisonous to animals that I probably don't know about? It is going to be rough when it comes times to have kids!!

And then there were two.

This is probably not going to be the world's most interesting post for everyone, but the fact of the matter is, this development needs to be documented.

On Saturday morning, we were a one-cat family.

SO DANG CUTE.

By Saturday afternoon, we were a two-cat family.

That's right, what began as a "quick peek" in PetSmart ended with paperwork and money being exchanged, and this little cutie got packed into a cardboard box to come home with us.

He is yet to be named (a much harder task than one might think), but he is already very loved (by us, not so much by the Original Kitten).

Almost every picture so far is a little blurry... he moves SO MUCH.

We have our hands full, that's for dang sure - he is 10 weeks old and lightening quick. Every time a door gets opened, he is flying through it.... We are going to have to keep our eyes on him!

He'd rather just play with the box than the toys, thank you.....

Richmond restaurants: two new loves

We went down to Richmond on Friday afternoon to visit with some friends of ours, and while we were there, I had two of the most delicious meals. Y'all know how I feel about food and good restaurants, so I just have to share these experiences with you. If you ever find yourself in RVA (or live there and haven't tried these spots), I highly recommend stopping in!

Dinner on Friday night was at The Daily Kitchen and Bar on Cary Street. We got there around a little after 7 and were told that there would be a 45-minute wait (not unexpected). We grabbed drinks at the bar and prepared to hang out for a bit... well, wouldn't you know, our table was ready before we'd even finished that round! I think we ended up waiting just 20 minutes in the end - worth it! We shared the fried calamari appetizer (delicious, and I'm not a huge fan to start with) before choosing entrees. My eyes fell on the blackened fish tacos and my choice was made! There were lots of things on the menu that looked appealing, and I'm pretty sure I would have enjoyed anything I chose. The fish tacos were fantastic, though, and I loved the homemade hot sauce - it added just the right amount of kick. Our waitress was friendly but efficient, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was casual and lively. It was a nice night out, and we were seated near the patio with the doors wide open. I greatly enjoyed our meal, and would happily go back and try their brunch!

For brunch on Saturday, we ended up with our Plan B - and it was perfect! We tried to go to The Pig and Pearl, but got there around 10 AM, only to find that they don't open til 11 on Saturdays (ummm... what? Odd decision, if you ask me). So, on to the next place... The Black Sheep! Personally, I'm thrilled that is where we ended up, because it was amazing! The Black Sheep is a small, hole-in-the-wall kinda place, near the campus of VCU, tucked away off the main roads. We were seated immediately for breakfast, and started with coffee and Bloody Marys (a brunch necessity, amirite?) The coffee was hot and the Bloody Mary was spicy (though I'd have liked another dash of hot sauce), and both were exactly what I needed. For breakfast, I chose the No Mas Huevos Neuvos - and I am not embarrased to admit that I cleaned my plate. The dish is described on their menu as, "Two eggs served with a wheatberry & black bean chili. Topped with an avocado salsa, served over a griddled jalapeƱo gritcake. Served with toasted baguette. (Add carnitas for $2.)" You better believe I added the carnitas, and was very pleased with that choice. This is one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten! Again, everything on the menu looked delicious, and I'd love to go back and try lunch and / or dinner. Yum!

I truly love discovering new dining experiences, and was thrilled that we were able to try not one, but two delightful restaurants during our quick trip to the city. Like I said, definitely add these to your "must try" list - or tell if you've tried either of them before! I am always looking for new recommendations and meals to try, so if you have any suggestions of places we should go, let me know!

Andddd because there hasn't been a cat picture here in several days, at least, I'll leave you with this:

We took a trip to the vet on Friday afternoon, and the most pitiful cat on the planet decided he was safer sitting in the sink than on the table while we waited for his test results to come back. Just look at that face! Pathetic. :)

So tell me...

  • Favorite restaurant? Do you prefer chain places or holes-in-the-wall (no idea how to make that plural appropriately...)
  • What was the best thing you ate this weekend?
  • Does your pet act like the vet is the worst place in the world?! (Honestly, you'd think being in his cage was a death sentence.)

Five for Friday: in case you need a giggle

This week has been so quick and yet feels like it lasted a year... I can't believe that Monday was St. Patrick's Day! That seems like so long ago. Weird how time is like that, right?

It's been awhile since I did a Five for Friday post - I've got quite a random assortment of things for today!

1 // It was absolutely gorgeous last Saturday, and we grilled chicken and steak kebabs and celebrated with what has become our St. Patrick's Day tradition: Black and Tans! For those who don't know, a Black and Tan is a drink with light and dark beer, poured specially so that the dark beer sits on top of the light beer. We use Guinness and Bass, and it is the only time of year that I drink either of those things. Hey, when in Rome Ireland (or just thinking of it...)

2 // So Saturday was a perfect spring day... and Monday we woke up to 8" of snow. This is definitely not a picture I expected to take in mid-March! Go away, winter...

3 // Signs you live in a preserved historic area: the other day, on the way to the library, I found myself stuck behind a horse-drawn carriage. True story. I felt a smidge like I'd been time-traveling.

4 // Someone has decided that the garage door is the way to Narnia - or something. He just keeps sitting in front of it and crying... so awkward. One night this week, we noticed that we hadn't seen the cat in a while, and C went searching for him. He eventually noticed that the garage door was open just slightly. It apparently hadn't latched when we came through the last time, and Mac had taken himself out for an adventure. We got him back in the house and scolded him, and he promptly curled up in my lap looking sad. What a PITA.

5 // Speaking of cats... this remains one of the funniest things I have ever come across on the internet. I giggle every single time I see it. It doesn't help that my cat looks a lot like that one, and makes the same face when he gets worked up. Hilarious.

Happy Friday!!

Five for Friday: burgers, bugs, and brrrrr!

This week has been nuts. I honestly can't believe it's Friday - I have no idea where the past few days went. We had a major meeting happening at work this week, and I was working extra hours every day to get everything done for various projects. Plus, we had a snow day (which just means working from home for me), which totally threw off the meeting schedule, and we've had to deal with Polar Vortex version 2.0. It's been a week for the books, and I am thrilled that it is winding down.

It's been a while since I did a good 'ol fashioned Five for Friday post, so I thought I'd give that whirl this week. If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably seen these.... sorry not sorry.

1 // it's Restaurant Week in our town, and it is awesome. I love having an excuse a chance to try some new restaurants. Last night, C picked me up from the train and we went to Vivify for the first time. It was awesome! It's a burger joint with a bar, and it has a totally chill, fun feel. Very relaxed, nice staff, and yummy food. I had a black bean burger with siracha ranch and it was fantastic. (Added bonus - Vivify has a rooftop bar and deck that I can't WAIT to try out this spring!!)

2 // Enjoyed a glass of red in a glass from one of the wineries we visited from my birthday - I love wineries that give out normal-sized glasses with their tastings, because it's fun to reminisce while I sit on my couch. I don't know what those little tiny tasting glasses are about.... #aintnobodygottimeforthat

3 // Gave in to some of the snacks provided during our meetings... I just can't say no to Goldfish! They are one of my favorite salty treats. So addicting!

4 // This cat. I swear. First of all - that little tiny speck is a stink bug. I have NO IDEA how these damn bugs are surviving the winter (and the Polar Vortexes), but they are - I have found three in my house in the past week. The cat is more scared of them than they are of him... he just sits there and stares at them, then runs away when they move a little closer. He was hilarious to watch the other night - the bug was totally torturing him.

5 // Still riding the Ski Trip 2014 high - we had so much fun! I definitely wish we had the opportunity to get on the slopes more often. The trip never feels long enough!

Happy Friday, y'all! Hope you have a great weekend.

So tell me......
  • Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks? What's your favorite thing to munch on?
  • How's the weather at your house? I am a winter-lover and I'd always prefer cold over hot, but this is getting to be a bit much....
  • Do you ski or snowboard?

Five for Friday: odds & ends

A random assortment for this edition of Five for Friday
1 // I recently discovered that I can use my library card to check out eBooks from the local library & put them on my nook or iPad (totally behind the times). I am basically obsessed. I am using the longer commute time that we now have to catch up on the loooong list of books that I've been meaning to read, and it's been fantastic to get books for free! I just started this one, Tell the Wolves I'm Home, at the recommendation of a sweet friend. Technology is awesome!

2 // We took a quick trip to the lake last weekend - left all our still-packed boxes behind and got away for a few days. Even though it was overcast and / or raining the whole weekend, it was still relaxing and fun. We did get one picture Friday evening while the sun was out - so not a completely dreary time!

3 // I finally gathered up all the seashells I've collected on our OBX trips and "did something" with them. Old vases FTW. This is the beginning of the beach-themed bathroom upstairs, and peek at the quick paint job my mom and I did before we moved in!

4 // Little dude has been hanging out with my in the morning while I get ready for work - he spent Wednesday morning rolling around on the carpet in the bedroom and getting into some crazy antics. He is WAY more of a morning person cat than I am, that's for sure.

5 // I am using this new (to me) app / website a bit more to try to gather all my internet recipes in one place. It's actually pretty handy! I'm making these creamy chicken & jalapeno enchiladas from Bev Cooks for dinner tonight, and yesterday, when I got to the grocery store, it was easy to just open the ZipList app and see what I needed, without having to Google search for the recipe and try to remember where I found it. Just checked the recipes I'd stored, and crossed things off the list. I'm going to try to remember to save all my recipes there!

Happy weekend!

Sandy, can't you see, I'm in misery...*

Well, it's official - Hurricane Sandy is upon us! It has been raining all day, the wind is really picking up, and I just started hearing sirens - definitely not good.

We've done the best we can to prepare for the storm, buts its truly hard to know what to do. We went to the store, and came home with bottled water, a case of beer, and a bag of chips so we can make nachos tonight... maybe we're not the best at being adults. However, we are planning on making camp in the living room tonight, rather than sleeping upstairs in our room, because there are a lot of trees behind our house. Just seems safer to be on the lower level.

The federal government, local schools, and public transit are all closed down - after a few major disasters in the last couple years, it seems like people are finally deciding to make the safe calls and not risk employee safety. Better safe than sorry!  We had to take Mac to the vet today, but other than that, we've been shut up indoors, watching movies and hanging out. I'm so happy to be safe and dry!

"You took me to the vet, in the rain?! Worst humans ever."

Good thing I have pink rain boots...

A nice pot of gluhwein to keep me warm tonight... Definitely a win!
A warm drink is essential on a night like tonight - my personal favorites are apple cider with dark or spiced rum, or gluhwein! Gluhwein is German mulled wine, and it is so easy and so delicious. There are lots of recipes out there - its one of those things that really doesn't need a "recipe" at all; just add things till it tastes right. Here's how I make mine:

Gluhwein
  • 1 bottle red wine (cheap is good!)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Juice of half a lemon and half an orange
  • Slices of half a lemon and half an orange
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Mix all ingredients together in a quart pan over low heat. It's ready to go as soon as it's warm, but the longer it sits on the heat, the better it tastes. Enjoy!

*I do enjoy all the references to Grease that "Sandy" has brought about.... great movie, duh.

Foodie PenPal FAIL.

Here's a picture of all the amazing goodies that my Foodie PenPal sent me this month!!:

Wait, there's no picture.

That's correct.

That's because this month's Foodie PenPal exchange was a great big FAIL. I did not receive a package. Whomp whomp.

I got paired up with Rachael from Around, Wondering as the person I was sending a package to, and another girl (She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named [SWSNBN]), who doesn't have a blog or any internet presence that I can find (so I'm starting to wonder if she's even real), as the person who was going to send me my package. Great, I thought! Let's do this! (LERROOYYYY JENKINS! Five points if you get that reference.)

I sent out my email to establish contact with Rachael, and got an email from SWSNBN. I told SWSNBN all about myself, my food preferences, my hobbies, my eating habits, blah blah blah. She emailed me back and told me about herself, including that she's a student in Maryland, and I thought that was great, because we'd have some local food things in common. All was well.

Packages are supposed to be mailed out by the 15th of the month. I got Rachael's package together, had a great time searching for fun things in Occoquan, wrapped it all in pretty tissue paper, and got it in the mail a day or two early, even. Then I get an email from SWSNBN saying that she won't be able to have my package in the mail by the 15th, but should have it by the 18th at the latest. OK - no big deal. It's just coming from Maryland, shouldn't take long to arrive, all is still well.

So....... then nothing. No email. No package. No carrier pigeon. I'm checking the mail daily, figuring that at some point this package will arrive. Nope. Nadda. I email SWSNBN asking what's going on. No response. I email Lindsay to tell her that things do not appear to be going well. She emails me back saying that she emailed SWSNBN - as far as I know, no response.

And that is all folks. SWSNBN has disappeared, I received no fun Foodie PenPals package this month, and August is over. I repeat... whomp whomp. Sads all around - even C is disappointed, because he liked the last box, and he helped me shop for this month's box, and we were looking forward to seeing what we'd get. So now there are TWO sad, fun-food-less people in our house. Two and half, if you count Mac, who's sad on our behalf.

So sad he's falling over.
I don't know what's going on here,
but this picture cracks me up.
Camera fail. Kitty pirate.
All funnies aside, I have to admit that I'm pretty disappointed/a little mad. I know that I take a chance when I sign up for an exchange like this that something will go wrong. I know that shit happens, and sometimes you just can't get your act together like you'd like, and maybe that's what happened this time. I'd like to give SWSNBN the benefit of the doubt. My issue with the whole thing is, though, that she didn't own up to it. At least answer my email. At least tell me that no box is coming. Don't just disappear off the face of the planet and leave me wondering WTF happened. Not cool, SWSNBN. Not cool. Blerg.

So there ya have it. This month's Foodie PenPals was a bust. I hope everyone else got awesome boxes, and I can't wait to read Rachael's post later and see if she liked what I sent her. I'm not doing FPP next month, because there's just too much going on, but I think I will take the chance again after that. After all, my first time around was pretty awesome. I couldn't possibly get screwed twice, right?? **knocks on wood**

If you want to know more about the Foodie PenPals Program, here is the basic info:

  • On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
  • The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
  • You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
  • Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
  • Foodie Penpals is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We've determined things might get too slow and backed up if we're trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

Travel Tales: Fayetteville, NC!

My mom and I had such a fun time in Fayetteville. Like I said on Friday, we went down to visit my sorority sister, Ashley, and her husband, Jason, plus their twin boys, Chris and Collin. It was so nice to spend some time with Ashley and her family without any other events going on, or without her living out of a suitcase with the boys. I'm pretty sure that every time I've seen them over the last three years, there was either a wedding happening or it was in the middle of a trip they were taking, so we didn't get much QT. This was much needed! The boys are 3 1/2, and they are such characters. It was great to get to spend some time with them in their "natural habitat" - I can't believe how big they are! Pictures are worth a thousand words...

Hi, Collin!
Playing in the playroom
 On Saturday, we went to a really cute little part of Fayetteville and had dinner at an amazing restaurant called Pierro's. I had their award-winning pesto lasagna, which was delicious! And even better the next day as leftovers. Can't beat that! Then we went to a place called the wine cafe, which was really fun - they basically have wine vending machines, and you can get a taste, a half glass, or a full glass of a bunch of different wines. It was a very fun way to spend the evening. Wish we had one up here!

On Sunday morning, we got in a quick run before the major rainstorms started - Fayetteville has a great municipal park with a paved path that goes around it, and it was such a nice place for a run! I know I'd put it to great use if I lived down there. It's where the boys will play soccer when they start in a few weeks, too! There may or may not have been robot donuts on Sunday morning, too... the boys LOVED them!

I'm so glad we got to go down for a visit, and I'm glad my mom was able to go with me - we are such good road trippers together. It was fun to spend some time together! It's nice to have friends within traveling distance. I shouldn't take that for granted. It may not always be the case!

Thanks for having us, Ashley and Jason - you were fantastic hosts!

When I got home on Sunday night, C was at his last flag football game of the regular season, and I found that he'd locked Mac in the guest room on accident before he left (just for a couple hours!) - Mac must have thought he was being tortured (because his life is SO TERRIBLE... not) because he spent the rest of the night glued to my side. Silly cat.

Five for Friday

Hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July! I took a few days to disconnect from everything and enjoy time with friends and family... it was so nice! My phone was left in the house and my computer never saw the light of day - and I didn't even mind! Some face-to-face connecting with the important people in my life was much more beneficial than any Facebook post, tweet, or blog post will ever be. It's nice to be reminded of that some times.

[source]

Since it's been a while, let's do this:

Five for Friday

1. I started my Independence Day by doing something crazy.... I RAN 10 MILES. Yes, you read that correctly. I broke the single-digit barrier and had my first-ever double-digit run. It was a beautiful thing. By beautiful, I mean sweaty, labored, huffing-and-puffing, just-need-to-finish.... tomato, to-mah-to. Right? Internet high-fives to Suzann and Lindsey for getting out there with me and pushing through while I did something I needed to do... (Suzann, you da best. Lindsey, you're crazy - can't believe you just hopped up and did that! Show off.) It was a great way to kick-start the holiday... pretty sure I earned myself a few celebratory beers with that one!
Not from after the 10 miles, but post-workout on Tuesday... forgive the mascara. SO SWEATY.
Boom.

2. Speaking of beers... I need to detox in a SERIOUS way. The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, and I LOVE all the summery foods that come along with it - pulled pork BBQ, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon, cookies, beers, chips and salsa... all things delicious. However, I definitely over-indulged a bit, and I can practically hear my body calling for water and produce. Needless to say, I'll be eating a pretty garden-fresh diet for the next few days. Anyone else feeling the post-holiday food hangover?

3. You may have noticed and/or I may have harassed you about it already, but GUESS WHAT?! (Are you guessing?... I'll wait.) (OK, long enough.) Typically Late is on Facebook! YAY! Check it out here OR just take a look at the nifty little gadget on the right-hand side of my site, and you can "like" the page right from there! So easy. So simple. So social-media savvy.

4. I managed to spend two days out in the sun by the pool for hours at a time and did not get sunburned. If you know me in real life, you know this is a miraculous feat. SPF 50, I owe you.
MySpace picture by the pool. I have a "tan" in this photo. Promise!
This picture doesn't show it, but the boys played some serious pool basketball. It gets intense.
5. Mac the Cat has really come a long ways since his initial days living at our house. He's really starting to let his little personality (/craziness) show, even though we've only had him for ~8 weeks. We're becoming best friends. Really... C took this picture this other night. Yes, we are snuggling sleeping. Don't judge. #crazycatlady

The other day I found him like this:

Yes, his head is all the way through the blinds. Apparently he couldn't see as well as he wanted to...
~~~~~
That's all I've got. Anyone else in need of serious detox time and some hard workouts to make up for Independence Day splurges? Send your best intense workouts my way - I'm looking to change it up a bit and challenge myself for a few days! What have ya got??
Five for Friday
I am THRILLED today... because it's the best kind of Friday there is: the Friday before a long weekend. Perfect! A quick "Five for Friday" update it what ya get today - I have tons on the to-do list!
~~~~~

Five for Friday

1. This time tomorrow I will be sitting on the dock by the lake, most likely with a beer in hand, reading a good book. I. Can't. Wait. We have sweet family friends who have a house down at Smith Mountain Lake, near Roanoke, and they are gracious and kind enough to have given us a pretty-much standing open invitation to come down whenever we like. Memorial Day weekend has basically become a tradition, and so we are headed down tonight and will spend the next few days basking in the sunshine, enjoying the slow life. I honestly can't even tell you how excited I am about this - I need to get away. Can't wait for some quality time with friends and family. Hooray!

2. Last night, I took Suzann's CX Works class, and then we were going to go for a run. However, the weather was not working in our favor, and it looked like it was about to downpour any second. We opted for the treadmills instead, and I introduced her to the HIIT workout I did on Tuesday. Let me tell you - she kicked my @ss in her class, and I returned the favor on the treadmill. Ha! Sorry Suz. You know you loved it! After our quick run, there was one more thing we needed...
SweetFrog! A little fro-yo was the perfect ending to the workout, and just the rejuvenation we needed. This stuff is so good. There are no words.
Not mad about this at all. YUM.
3. I didn't have a chance to get to Global Market for fruits and veggies this week, and I have really been missing my usual breakfast and lunch choices. We are just about out of everything at our house. I've been subsisting on strawberries and baby carrots every day - not very interesting... I will definitely be making a trip to the store ASAP!

4. Best news ever: So You Think You Can Dance is back!! This is seriously my favorite "reality" show of all time. The first episode of the season was last night, and it was fantastic! Some seriously talented dancers out there, y'all. Good indicator that it was a great episode: "I forgot how much this show makes you cry." Direct quote from the husband. Typical. Did anyone else watch??
5. Cat update: Mac the Cat is getting a bit braver. /crazier. He is really starting to let his little personality shine, and I think he's getting a bit more comfortable with us. Last night, he joined us for some TV watching:
Hilarious.
And then ran around until he tired himself out and needed a stretch:
And then he disappeared to hid behind the dresser upstairs again. C has taken to calling him "Flee" because that's basically what he does all the time - flee! I MUST GET AWAYYYY! We like to narrate his thoughts. It's a lot funnier than it sounds written here... trust me.

~~~~~
And that's all I've got. Have a fantastic weekend! Don't forget to think about what Memorial Day is all about... it's easy to forget between the barbecues, beers, and good times. Happy Friday!
